This week a few lucky St Lukers attended the LBB Academy – a one-day masterclass in TV production, organised by Little Black Book. Some brilliant speakers took us from the pre-production process, to the intricacies of offline edits, grading and CGI in post.
Our visit to some of Soho’s most respected production shops was a great, interactive opportunity to learn, and underlined the importance of consistent collaboration between clients, agencies and production houses. A personal highlight was the talk from Paul Reynolds of Massive Music, demonstrating the importance of music within advertising. A couple of stellar examples were Adidas’ ‘House Party’ ad (using a remix of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ ‘Beggin’ that would subsequently enter the charts) and Lacoste’s ‘The Big Leap’. Also, Marvel & Samsung’s virtual reality experience, ‘Battle For The Avengers Tower’, was a very impressive (if slightly overwhelming) introduction to the world of VR.
Many thanks to LBB for organizing the event, and everyone from Great Guns, Cut & Run, Getty, Massive Music and Framestore for helping to educate us!
