Last night, a few lucky St Lukers joined Jonah Lomu, Will Carling, John Smit, Matt Dawson and Scott Quinnell at Heineken’s Rugby World Cup 2015 Opening Party. Taking over one of London’s most iconic venues, Somerset House, we were blessed with perfect weather (after a shaky start to the day) for an evening of music and entertainment, all washed down with a few delicious Heinekens.
With the Heineken Rugby Legends working as barmen, the evening kicked-0ff our campaign for the tournament, which will continue to give fans the chance to get closer to the action – whether it’s attending the pre-match coin toss, or interacting with the Legends via the Heineken Rugby Studio.
Throughout the evening there was a huge range of street food on offer, with a standout being Kothu Kothu’s Sri Lankan delights. As the evening came to a close, a spectacular projection transformed the venue into a stadium with all the atmosphere of matchday. And for the grand finale, Everything Everything got everyone dancing with a set of their biggest hits. Massive thanks to everyone at Heineken for such a great evening!
The party’s got us even more excited for the tournament’s kick-off in a few weeks time, and in the meantime you can find masses of rugby news and content via #ItsYourCall, or by visiting Heineken.com/rugby. And if, like us, you’re counting down the days, we’d recommend you keep your eyes peeled at the weekend – as we’ve been working on a nice surprise to help get fans closer to the action of Rugby World Cup 2015!
